Appaloosa
Alpacas
Camouflage
Welcome to the world of the Appaloosa Alpaca. These alpacas are being purposefully bred at Popham Alpacas in Cornwall from a single male called Camouflage who was imported from Ambersun Alpacas in 2008. He descends from a line of appaloosa alpacas which can be traced back to the original female to show this Leopard gene. She was called RCA Safari and Camouflage is now throwing the same gene in alpacas born here at Popham. In 2011 we purchased another spotty male called Alpaca Stud Masquerade. He is hopefully also carrying the leopard gene and we intend to mate him to our Camouflage daughters.
We intend to continue this breeding programme and in time make these very valuable genes available to other breeders across Europe.
Please enjoy the website and photographs, on the pages and in the gallery. These will be added to as each appaloosa alpaca is born so you can see how the programme develops.
Feel free to contact us on the contact page should you have any enquiries.
